Peter Jackson recently shared a funny story about a delivery driver who unknowingly criticised his 'Hobbit' movies right in front of him.

The Oscar-winning director, best known for directing 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy between 2001 and 2003, later returned to Middle-earth for 'The Hobbit' films, released from 2012 to 2014. While both trilogies performed well at the box office, many fans and critics viewed 'The Hobbit' movies as weaker compared to the highly praised 'Lord of the Rings' series.

Peter Jackson Shares Delivery Drivers' Criticisms of His Movies

Speaking during an appearance at Cannes, Peter Jackson recalled how a FedEx delivery driver recognised him while dropping off a package at his home. The driver praised 'The Lord of the Rings' and called it a fantastic film series. However, moments later, the man added that the filmmakers should have hired Jackson to direct 'The Hobbit' movies because he thought those films were terrible.

Jackson found humour in the awkward moment because the delivery driver did not realise he had actually directed both trilogies. Instead of correcting him immediately, Jackson simply reacted with amusement and agreed with the comment in a lighthearted way.

The story quickly gained attention online, with many fans finding the encounter hilarious.

Meanwhile, the world of Middle-earth is expanding again with 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,' an Amazon Original series, and a new 'Lord of the Rings' movie in development. One of the upcoming films is 'The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,' which will be directed by Andy Serkis. Reports also suggest that Jamie Dornan may take over the role of Aragorn, originally played by Viggo Mortensen in the original trilogy.
