Global music sensation Bad Bunny is officially heading to infinity and beyond. On 26th May, Disney and Pixar announced that the Grammy-winning singer would be joining the voice cast of 'Toy Story 5' as "Pizza with Sunglasses," one of the most surprising new characters in the franchise to date.

What initially sounds like a hilarious cameo is actually turning into one of the most talked-about full circle moments in Bad Bunny's expanding Hollywood journey.

From Music Superstar to Pixar's Toy Box

Born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Bad Bunny has spent the last few years steadily building a film career alongside dominating global music charts. The artist is making his first foray into animation after starring with Brad Pitt in movies like 'Bullet Train,' playing parts in 'Happy Gilmore 2,' and working on upcoming projects like 'Porto Rico' and 'Caught Stealing.'

Pixar revealed that Bad Bunny will voice a quirky forgotten toy named "Pizza with Sunglasses," described by Disney as "effortlessly cool and mysterious." The character reportedly belongs to "a small but mighty community of forgotten toys living in an abandoned backyard shed."

Bad Bunny often shared homemade Toy Story-inspired films on social media during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, utilizing his own Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Rex, and Forky toys. In the clips, he hilariously voiced every character himself, creating what fans called "Toy Story in the Times of Coronavirus." That lighthearted fandom has now been recognized as official Pixar canon years later.

What the New Trailer Reveals About 'Toy Story 5'

Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the rest of the legendary gang are expected to travel into an unexplored territory in the upcoming fifth installment, which is officially set to open in theaters across the globe in June. The storyline, which has been directed by Andrew Stanton, the Pixar veteran behind classics like 'Finding Nemo' and 'WALL-E,' takes a very contemporary and relevant approach: our favourite toys from childhood must contend with the biggest threat to playtime: electronic gadgets and the addictive appeal of tablet screens.

A significant generational shift in the 'Toy Story' universe is hinted at in the just released trailer. This time, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the crew must deal with a world where traditional toys and technology are vying for kids' attention.

The main source of tension is Lilypad, a smart electronic gadget voiced by Greta Lee that seems to control Bonnie's playtime and undermine the value of traditional toys.

Tony Hale as Forky, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, and Tom Hanks as Woody are among the returning voice actors. Alan Cumming as Evil Bullseye, Craig Robinson in a new role, and Conan O'Brien as Smarty Pants are the other new cast members on board this time.

A Full Circle Moment Ahead of Release

For Bad Bunny, this part feels more like a fantasy come true than a random Hollywood move. Online fans have already referred to it as "manifestation becoming canon," particularly once videos of the artist's long-standing passion with the franchise surfaced.

Although the scope of his role is yet unknown, "Pizza with Sunglasses" is already generating interest online due to the character's easygoing demeanor and enigmatic aura, which many fans claim is a perfect fit for Bad Bunny.

Pixar's teaser even features the artist's signature laugh while introducing the toy. On 19th June, 2026, over seven years after its predecessor, 'Toy Story 5' is slated to open in theaters. And with nostalgia, technology, forgotten toys, and Bad Bunny all colliding in one film, Pixar may have just found one of its most unexpected casting wins yet.
