Paramount Pictures is bringing audiences back into the eerie world of 'Longlegs' with a new instalment set to release on 14th January, 2028.
Director Osgood Perkins is returning to write and direct the film, while Nicolas Cage will reprise his role. The upcoming project isn’t a direct sequel but will explore another story within the same unsettling universe.
Success of 'Longlegs'
The original film, released in 2024 by Neon, became a major success. Made on a modest budget, it earned around $128 million worldwide and helped establish Perkins as a standout name in horror. The story followed an FBI agent, played by Maika Monroe, investigating a series of disturbing murder-suicides connected to a mysterious serial killer known as Longlegs.

The announcement of a new film came as a surprise, especially with the franchise shifting from Neon to Paramount. The move is reportedly linked to the larger scale of the new project, as Paramount continues to invest heavily in horror films.
Beyond this franchise, Osgood Perkins remains active with Neon, working on projects like 'The Monkey' and the upcoming 'The Young People,' which features Nicole Kidman, Lola Tung, and Nico Parker.
The new 'Longlegs' film is being produced by a team that includes Perkins and Nicolas Cage, promising another chilling chapter for fans of the franchise.
