Madonna delivered one of the most artistic and dramatic looks at the 2026 Met Gala, perfectly bringing the theme to life.
The 67-year-old icon made a powerful entrance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on 4th May, wearing a custom design by Saint Laurent. Her outfit was inspired by the artwork The Temptation of St. Anthony. Fragment II by Leonora Carrington.
Madonna's Met Gala Look
She wore an all-black ensemble paired with satin opera gloves and a striking headpiece shaped like a ship, placed on top of a structured cap. Flowing from it was a massive, sheer grey scarf that stretched across the carpet, so large that seven assistants were needed to carry it.

The look closely mirrored the painting that inspired it, which also features a woman with an elaborate headpiece and a long piece of fabric carried by others. Madonna's assistants echoed this artistic vision by wearing pastel-colored lace gowns and unique translucent eye accessories, adding to the theatrical effect.
She completed the look with bold accessories, including rings worn over her gloves, chunky black shoes, and a statement necklace. She even carried a horn, referencing the figure in the artwork.
Her beauty matched the dark, dramatic theme. She styled her black hair down with braided sections framing her face, and wore bold makeup with pale skin, high blush, bleached brows, and dark eyeliner.

Madonna's Previous Met Gala Looks
A longtime Met Gala favourite, Madonna has been a standout at the event since her debut in 1997. At the 2025 gala, she wore a sharp white suit by Tom Ford, designed by Haider Ackermann, complete with a boutonniere and lace gloves, proving once again her ability to reinvent her style year after year.
