2020’s Top 10 Album Picks!

2020 has promised to be a year of some great music, with tons of new releases coming our way. Here’s our Top 10 list of upcoming albums and pop music projects that you should definitely keep an eye out for!

1. Normani

Normani had a killer 2019 with her hot debut single “Motivation”, but it doesn’t end there. She’s promised fans a debut full-length studio album that will show us a side of her that we’ve never seen before. She’s on her way to exploring individuality, and her solo music career, and we are here for it.

2. Justin Bieber

Justin’s in for a hell of a year, professionally. The pop superstar just released his first solo single in 5 years, titled “Yummy”, which is steadily making its way to the top of the charts worldwide. He’s also got a docuseries lined up for release on the 25th of January. His album, title yet to be announced, will also release sometime soon. Not really sure how to handle this Bieber fever, but glad we caught it.

3. Selena Gomez:

Selena is making a comeback on the 10th of January after a 4 year-long hiatus from music. She took some time off to recuperate and get her health back on track. With drastic changes in her personal life, battling Lupus and handling her professional career, she really grew – a transformation we’re going to see with her release “Rare”. The studio album will feature some amazing artists as well as her hit singles “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look At Her Now”. Her singles have already hit No. 1 on multiple charts, so we’re in for a pop delight!

4. BTS

BTS is all set to make their comeback with a follow up album to their 2019 hit record “Map of the Soul: Persona”. The album and its release dates were announced recently, sending the internet into a frenzy. Titled “Map of the Soul: 7”, the album will be the second installment in the “Map of the Soul” series. The album will boast two singles along with an array of tour videos, dates and other audio-visual treats.

5. Halsey

Halsey’s latest “Manic” is all set for release on the 17th of January. This marks the singer’s 3rd studio album and also promises to be a departure from her previous works. Speaking of the project, she has assured fans that this body of work represents a time of individuality and experimentation as she ventures out into a bit of rock, indie and alt-pop. She has already released multiple tracks from the album including “Nightmare”, “Graveyard” and “Clementine” giving us a taste of what to expect.

6. Dua Lipa

The queen of bomb break up anthems promises to bring a disco revolution to the pop scene with her album “Future Nostalgia”. The singer released the single “Don’t Start Now” and subsequently released tour dates, revealing the name of her album. The single has already hit No. 1 on charts world over, seeing Lipa delivering some stunning performances world over.

7. Rihanna

She’s got business mogul, successful pop star and all round legend under her belt already, but fans will never get enough of her. Rihanna has been teasing fans for two years now, promising new music. Her ability to troll us has made the wait entertaining, bust hasn’t quenched our thirst. Fans are keeping the faith, examining signs from RiRi to convince themselves she’s releasing new music this year, and hey, we’re all in the same boat.

8. Cardi B

She just released a 3 second snippet of unheard music, and that was enough to send fans spiralling. She scored huge commercial success and critical acclaim with her last release “Invasion of Privacy”, even winning the Grammy for Rap Album of the Year. She has served us with numerous banging features, never once boring us. She’s all set to take 2020 by the horns, and we’re all set to watch.

9. Sam Smith

They had a massive comeback last year, and we’re here for it. Their advocacy for mental health awareness and body positivity coupled with the release of the chart topping single “How Do You Sleep” put them right back on the pop map, much to our delight. Smith has promised fans an album in 2020, and all we can do is wait.

10. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga took 2019 by storm with the release of her first feature film “A Star Is Born” where she showed off her acting chops and a vocal style we’ve never seen from her. She was nominated for Golden Globes and Oscars, winning most of them. She even went on a massive world tour, and released her Netflix documentary “Five Foot Tall,” crushing celebrity documentary records world over. Most recently, she tweeted the hashtag “#LG6” confirming the news of new music with a simple message that read – “I am pregnant with #LG6”. That’s cool, we’re fine.
