After dominating pop culture with the global success of 'Brat' and turning "Brat Summer" into a worldwide phenomenon, Charli XCX is officially entering a brand-new era. On 1st June, 2026, the British pop star announced her seventh studio album, 'Music, Fashion, Film,' revealing not only its release date but also one of the most exciting album covers of the year.

Featuring iconic filmmaker Martin Scorsese alongside fashion designer Marc Jacobs and musician John Cale, the project immediately created interest throughout music and social media communities. For Charli, the album marks another bold reinvention following one of the most successful periods of her career.

Charli XCX's Rise from Cult Pop Star to Global Phenomenon

Over the last decade, Charli XCX has transformed from a budding pop musician into one of the most important performers of her time. After gaining mainstream attention through hits like 'Boom Clap,' '1999,' 'Boys,' and collaborations including 'I Love It' and 'Fancy,' Charli built a reputation for constantly pushing pop music into new creative territory.

While she always had a loyal fanbase, her career hit an entirely different level with 2024's 'Brat.'

The album became a cultural movement rather than just a commercial success. Its neon-green look, internet-driven marketing, club-inspired sound, and viral "Brat Summer" craze dominated social media for months. The album topped charts globe, produced billions of internet impressions, and established Charli into one of the defining pop voices of the decade.

Even in 2026, conversations around the "Brat" era continue to shape fashion, music, and internet culture.

‘Music, Fashion, Film’ Arrives this July

Now, Charli is ready to move forward. The singer stated that her new album, 'Music, Fashion, Film,' will be released on 24th July, 2026, through Atlantic Records. According to her announcement, the album contains 11 tracks and runs for 30 minutes and 5 seconds. Fans have already heard two songs from the project — 'Rock Music' and 'SS26'— both of which offered hints about the sonic direction of the new era.

Charli posted the following caption to her Instagram post: "My new album Music, Fashion, Film is out July 24th. 11 songs, 30 minutes, 5 seconds. Available to pre-order now, love you xx."

Interestingly, the album title appears to come directly from lyrics in 'SS26,' where Charli sings, "Nothing's gonna save us, not music, fashion or film." Now, the term serves as the basis for a whole creative endeavour that seems to combine her three main artistic influences.

The album also serves as the official follow-up to 'Brat' and arrives after her 'Wuthering Heights' soundtrack project released earlier this year.

Why Martin Scorsese Is on the Album Cover?

Perhaps the biggest surprise surrounding the announcement is the album cover itself. Shot by photographer and longtime collaborator Aidan Zamiri, the black-and-white cover features John Cale, Marc Jacobs, and Martin Scorsese standing together. Fans quickly realized that each figure represents one part of the album's title: 'Music, Fashion, and Film.'

Scorsese's appearance especially caught attention online, with fans calling it one of the most unexpected celebrity collaborations of the year.

Beyond simply appearing on the artwork, Martin Scorsese's inclusion reflects Charli XCX's growing ambition to position herself beyond pop music. Over the last two years, Charli has expanded into film production, acting, soundtrack work, and creative direction, making cinema a major part of her artistic identity. While Marc Jacobs continues to be one of fashion's most important designers, the Oscar-winning director has long been recognized as one of the best storytellers in film.

John Cale, meanwhile, is a founding member of The Velvet Underground and recently collaborated with Charli on the song 'House.' Together, the trio visually represents the artistic worlds Charli appears to be exploring in this new chapter. Whether 'Music, Fashion, Film' becomes another cultural phenomenon remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: Charli XCX has no interest in repeating herself. Instead, she is once again reinventing her world—and bringing music, fashion, and film together in a way only she can.
