Lady Gaga details a complex, vulnerable love, enlisting the four members of Blackpink. Crooning to a high-bass, techno backing, the 5 women sing: "I'm sour candy/ So sweet, then I get a little angry// I'm hard on the outside, but if you give me time// Then I could make time for your love//".

Inviting listeners to "unwrap" them, Lady Gaga and Blackpink assure everyone that they're as real as it gets on this techno-pop dance hall track. The lyrics speak loud and clear "I might be messed up/ But I know what's up// You want a real taste/ At least I'm not a fake//".

Lady Gaga recently sat down with Zane Lowe, and talked about the experience of working with a K-Pop group. She said: "I never had any female artists to guide me, so I definitely want to guide them," speaking of her work with both Blackpink and <a href=" Grande.

This collaboration with Lady Gaga marks the second time Blackpink dips their feet into English pop music; their first collaboration being the track "Kiss and Make Up" with Dua Lipa.

Contrary to popular expectations, Blackpink have stayed true to their Korean language, combining some hard-hitting, bold English lines with softer, Korean vocalisation. "Sour Candy" shines the light on all four members of the group, with part-time rappers donning their vocalist hats for this project.
