India's live music scene is witnessing one of its biggest years yet. First came announcements from legendary rock acts Guns N' Roses, Foo Fighters and Bon Jovi, and now Grammy Award-winning electronic music duo The Chainsmokers have officially joined the growing list of global artists heading to the country.

The duo, comprising Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, have confirmed a three-city India tour scheduled for this December, marking their first visit to the country since 2023 and further highlighting India’s rising importance on the global touring map.

The Chainsmokers' India Comeback

The duo announced the news on social media, writing, "INDIA! WE ARE FINALLY COMING BACK! WE CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN FOR 3 SHOWS AT THE END OF THIS YEAR! Thank you all for your patience…we needed to make sure we were set up to give you all the best experience. We will see you in December!" The tour will begin on 18th December in Mumbai, followed by Delhi on 19th December, and wrap up on 20th December in Bengaluru.

The three consecutive performances, which are being organized in collaboration with Sunburn and Live Nation India, are anticipated to draw thousands of spectators from all around the nation. Tickets for the Mumbai and Bengaluru shows have already gone on sale through BookMyShow, with prices reportedly starting from ₹3,500.

Sunburn Festival Takes Centre Stage

One of the biggest highlights of the tour is The Chainsmokers' headline performance at Sunburn Festival 2026 in Mumbai. On 18th December, the two will headline the festival's Mumbai edition at the renowned Mahalaxmi Racecourse, which will host Sunburn for the first time. The Bengaluru concert will be held under the Sunburn Arena brand, while the Delhi performance will be a part of the Indian Sneaker Festival.

The Chainsmokers' comeback is a momentous occasion for India's EDM scene, according to Sunburn CEO Karan Singh, since their music has had a profound impact on youthful listeners over the past ten years. The announcement also coincides with Sunburn's ongoing expansion beyond its conventional festival structure, which is bringing worldwide performers to several places.

Why This Tour Matters and What Fans Can Expect

The tour’s timing is also noteworthy because 'Closer,' the worldwide single that made The Chainsmokers one of the most well-known names in contemporary pop and electronic music, was released 10 years ago in 2026. Since their formation in 2012, the pair has amassed a collection of chart-topping songs, including 'Don't Let Me Down,' 'Paris,' 'Something Just Like This,' 'Roses,' and ‘Closer,’ and they have sold over 118 million records worldwide.

Their previous India performances drew massive crowds, and fans can expect a high-energy production packed with festival-sized visuals, singalong moments and a setlist spanning more than a decade of hits.

With India now attracting some of the biggest names in global music, The Chainsmokers' return is another sign that the country has become a key destination for international tours, giving fans yet another major concert experience to look forward to before the year ends.
