After years of Broadway acclaim and multiple Tony Award nominations, Shoshana Bean finally had her breakthrough moment at the 79th Annual Tony Awards. The actress and singer won her first-ever Tony Award for her performance in 'The Lost Boys,' turning an already memorable night into a career-defining milestone.

The event, which celebrated Bean's long-awaited accomplishment and highlighted the greatest of Broadway, took place on 7th June, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Shoshana Bean's Long-Awaited Tony Triumph

Bean's portrayal of Lucy Emerson, the single mother at the center of the Broadway version of 'The Lost Boys,' earned her the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. One of the most talked-about Broadway performances of the season, the musical is based on the popular vampire movie from 1987.

Bean was nominated for 'Mr. Saturday Night' in 2022 and 'Hell's Kitchen' in 2024, but this was his first Tony award. The fact that she won on her third nomination made the occasion particularly significant for the performer and her admirers.

Bean congratulated the cast and creative staff of Lost Boys during her winning speech, referring to the show as "the most singular gift" of her career. She then gave one of the most moving speeches of the evening, dedicating the prize to all mothers and women. "This is for the mamas. This is for the single mamas. This is for my single mama," she said.

Bean also praised "the incredible army of women" who had supported and uplifted her throughout her life and career. She encouraged women to "take up space," "make your own path," and "be loud, be brave."
