The seven-member K-pop sensation created a frenzy after appearing on the palace balcony following a meeting with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

The grand reception highlighted BTS' enormous popularity in Latin America as the group continues its much-awaited 'Arirang World Tour' after returning from its military service hiatus.

The members appeared at the historic venue after meeting Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. Thousands of ARMY members filled the iconic Zócalo carrying banners, BTS light sticks and posters welcoming the group to Mexico. Many fans dressed in purple, the colour closely associated with BTS and their fandom, transforming the square into a festival-like celebration. Several fans reportedly arrived hours in advance just to catch a glimpse of the group.

Videos circulating online captured emotional moments as fans screamed, cried and sang BTS songs while the members waved from the balcony above. One of the loudest reactions came when RM addressed the crowd in Spanish, thanking Mexican fans for their continued support and love. The gesture instantly went viral online, with fans praising the group's connection with international audiences.
BTS Meets Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum
Before greeting fans outside, BTS met President Claudia Sheinbaum inside the National Palace. Photos shared online showed the members posing inside the historic building while holding copies of their latest album Arirang. In a statement shared on social media, Sheinbaum described BTS as one of the most beloved groups among Mexican youth and highlighted how music continues to strengthen cultural ties between Mexico and South Korea.

The Mexico City concerts are part of BTS' ongoing 'Arirang World Tour,' which marks the group's return to global touring after completing their military service hiatus. Reports suggest more than 135,000 tickets were purchased across the three dates, making it one of the biggest concert events in the country this year.
