Andrew Garfield is set to headline 'The Uprising,' a new historical drama from director Paul Greengrass, arriving in theatres this fall. Focus Features has scheduled the film for domestic release on 11th September.

The film tells the untold story of a rebellion against King Richard II, with Garfield playing the leader of an uprising that sees ordinary people rise against the Crown in a fight for justice and survival.

The 'The Uprising' cast also includes Jamie Bell, Tom Hollander, Stephen Dillane, Cosmo Jarvis, Woody Norman, Jonny Lee Miller, Thomasin McKenzie, and Katherine Waterston.

Greengrass wrote and directed the film, while producing alongside Gregory Goodman and Joanna Kaye. Additional producers include Jason Blum for Blumhouse, Lars Sylvest for Thank You Pictures and Joe Neurauter for Supernix.

Andrew Garfield's Other Projects

Andrew Garfield has several major projects on the way. He will appear in Apple TV+ series 'Wild Things,' playing Roy Horn opposite Jude Law as Siegfried Fischbacher. He is also set to portray OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in Luca Guadagnino's upcoming film 'Artificial' for Amazon MGM Studios. His recent credits include 'The Magic Faraway Tree,' 'After the Hunt' and 'We Live in Time'.

Focus Features also has a busy slate ahead, including Robert Eggers' 'Werwulf' arriving on Christmas, along with 'Obsession,' 'Sense and Sensibility,' 'Pressure' and Hayley Kiyoko's 'Girls Like Girls.'
