Remembering Kurt Cobain

Remembering Kurt Cobain

It's widely believed that the last Nirvana concert the world saw was the December 1993 MTC unplugged performance by the whole band. There is a lot we have seen from that concert including a rehearsal video that Nirvana posted in 1993. At the very start we hear Kurt annoyed, "Can we get on with it," he says as he points out that they are an hour late. In the onslaught of seeing him perform for the stage, this moment of flippant honesty -- it almost feels like it means something 2. 6 years later, everything feels like it means something. Any thread of who Kurt was and what his demons were haunt us all. In this memory, here's a look at Nirvana's actual last convert On March 1, 1994 Nirvana opened with a cheeky cover of 'My Best Friend's Girl' by Cars at Terminal 1 in Munich, Germany. Kurt was suffering from bronchitis and had been asked to take a break, and in a slew of defiance only capable of being mustered by somebody who loves their craft more than life itself -- he continued to play. These are the words of Krist Novoselic, the bassist, at the last concert they didn't know they would play: “We’re not playing the Munich Enormodome tonight. Because our careers are on the wane. We’re on the way out. Grunge is dead. Nirvana’s over. ... Our next record’s going to be a hip-hop record!”

Top 4 Cardi B X Coronavirus Collabs

Top 4 Cardi B X Coronavirus Collabs

If you’re familiar with Cardi’s music but not with her rants, we are envious of you because today your world is going to be thrown wide open. We have known our habibi to go off severe tangents and come at us in the bizarrest ways. This season a microbe has taken the brunt of being on the receiving end of B’s wrath. We’re counting up to the best collaborations Cardi has worked up with Coronavirus. Sit tight, the school is in session and Cardi is the headmistress you've never had. 4. “WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH TESTIES TO TEST EVERYBODY” “Coronavirus is very much real, first things first,” was the jump off point. From there Miss. B made her way to insisting that Coronavirus tests and treatments be free nationwide in America. Along the way there were drive bys through class disparity and the privilege of social distancing but in different words that are, well, better heard from herself. Even though we found a gem like “WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH TESTIES TO TEST EVERYBODY” in this video, it is coming in at #4 for having to sit through Cardi B fumbling, stuttering, and just down right avoiding having to use the word “poor”. Listen mama, poor ain’t a bad word, just spit it out! [embed]https://www.instagram.com/p/B-IpR_DgoTx/[/embed] 3. Cardi Wants To Know When Are We Getting Done With This Sh*t Shot in her bathroom, this #3 video is basically Cardi letting you all know that she might be moving to “The Islands” and wants to know how much she should be stocking up on supplies. Like, “is this a 2 weeks thing or a 2 months thing?” Cardi wants to know. Us too B, us too. [embed] View this post on Instagram I’ll make sure I say Hi to Santa Claus for yaaaa .Bitch shit just hit the fan ! A post shared by Cardi B (@iamcardib) on Mar 11, 2020 at 6:43pm PDT /[/embed] 2. Suspicions, suspicions. Coming in #2 is a clip from a IG Live video Cardi did from her home that has her absolutely baffled that some people are not showing symptoms and Cardi is calling them out for being snakes. If you've got the virus, show the virus is essentially her plea. Makes you wanna shake her just a little bit (Airplane! style) till she calms down. But don’t, please, don't-- in these trying times, she is all the entertainment we got! [embed] Cardi B gives her opinion on celebrities saying they have the #CoronaVirus ? pic.twitter.com/7GPoyh3xsb — DeMarko (@freakymarko) March 21, 2020 [/embed] 1. Drag Fashion Nova - Check; Create the Next Biggest Meme - Check “This shit was in Wuhan, China and all of a sudden it's on a mo***rf***ing tour.” There. I don’t know if it gets any funnier. Oh wait, it does: “just because you think you’re immune to it, guess what your packet ain’t b***h. A lot of shit is from m****rf***ing China. And if you’re thinking your weave, or your Fashion Nova package has arrived, guess what b***h, IT’S CORONAVIRUS, IT’S CORONAVIRUS.” And, bam the beat drops -- remember this -- because it’s going to play at every DJ concert you will go to after the lockdown. In Memory of Chester Bennington

In Memory of Chester Bennington

Here is a petition to make this wonderful day the Linkin Park throwback day. If we can’t do that, then today all we do is listen to albums of great music the band left us with. Today is the birth anniversary of Chester Bennington, and though we miss him and this memory can make us a little numb, we will celebrate it nonetheless with a big massive ‘Did You Know’ party on some cool/weird/adorable Linkin Park Facts! Here goes: 1 . Like A Boss Linkin Park is a record holder for being the most liked band of all time on Facebook with about 65 million likes on their page. 2. Star Wars Nerd In 2015, Mike Shinoda from the band set out to create a life-size model of a stormtrooper for the Art Awakens Star Wars-themed exhibition in Hollywood for charity. As nerdy as it may sound, it was auctioned at $15,000! 3. The Tragic Day Of On the day of Chester’s death, the band had released a whole new music video. This was before they found out the tragic news of the suicide. This truly goes to show that none of the band members saw it coming. This, alongside the fact that they had helped and supported him for years leading up to this day, goes to show how close they were and how deeply the news must have hurt them. 4. Friendship with Chris Cornell Not a lot of people know that Chester and Chris Cornell were really close buddies. In fact, Chester was godfather to one of Chris’s kids. When Chris died, at age 52, in a similar manner of suicide -- Chester gave a heartwrenching rendition of ‘Hallelujah’ at his funeral. 5. The Album Art The album cover art was something the band was long known for. But what is little known is that Mike Shinoda, who was a graphic designer by trade was the mastermind behind it all. In fact he created the Album Cover of ‘Hybrid Theory’ all by himself!

Happy Birthday Charlie!

Happy Birthday Charlie!

Charlie Puth was born in Rumson, New Jersey in 1991 and the star celebrates his birthday on December 2nd making all Sagittarius proud! Charlie Puth has always been musically gifted, he was encouraged by his mother to join jazz music classes and learn how to play the piano during his childhood. And after that, he won a full scholarship to Berklee College of music. Charlie Puth ultimately shot to fame through a Youtube channel, 'CharlieVlog' in 2009 where he posted originals and covers. He was later invited to perform at the Ellen show and also to sign into her record label eleveneleven in October 2011. However, he left the label pretty soon, and to this day, there's no clear reason as to why he did so. Charlie is known for his catchy hooks and distinctive falsettos, but he's also the pen behind a number of other artists' tunes! In addition to penning his own hits like “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” “Attention" and "See You Again," Puth has also co-written and produced a number of tracks for artists such as One Direction member Liam Payne and Maroon 5. Not very often do we wonder about the song-writers behind hit singles and that's why, here are some note-worthy moments where Charlie's really outdone himself when it comes to writing- In 2015, Puth co-wrote and co-produced CeeLo Green’s “Working Class Heroes (Work),” a dancey track featuring an upbeat bass and inspirational lyrics about working hard. The song was featured on Green's fifth studio album Heart Blanche. He also co-wrote a jam for Pitbull from the movie 'Penguins of Madagascar' which was later released on Pitbull’s eighth studio album Globalization. Puth teamed up with pop singer Zara Larsson for the glittery-pop single “So Good” in 2017 which he co-wrote and co-produced. The song was the fifth single from Larsson’s sophomore album of the same name and features rapper Ty Dolla $ign. “See you again” was one of his biggest hits with Wiz Khalifa , the emotional song helped millions over the world mourn Paul Walker's unexpected death. He's actually a pretty good music producer, too! He actually produced Jason Derulo's collaboration with Stevie Wonder and Keith Urban, 'Broke', on Jason's 'Everything Is 4' album. Talk about music royalty! This multi-talented individual is celebrating his 28th birthday today and we can't wait to get a peek into the celebrations.
