Xperience Session with Subhi and Kanishk Seth

RJ Rohit from indigomusic.com caught up with Subhi and Kanishk Seth on their latest dark remix version of the song ‘Wake Me Up’. Subhi is an Indo-American singer who collaborated with Indian composer, singer and songwriter Kanishk Seth for the dark remix version of ‘Aagosh’ last year. Kanishk talked about how they connected last year during the pandemic through Instagram and how they ended up working together.

Recorded just before the pandemic took hold in Los Angeles with songwriter/producer Taylor Sparks, ‘Wake Me Up’ is reflective of Subhi’s feelings of overcoming fears that this period has created. It’s a part of her debut five track English EP, ‘Define Me’ which talks about her journey as a multi-cultural artist who’s trying to find her voice, her sound and her own identity.

Kanishk became famous after his fusion album Trance With Khusrow, which he produced in collaboration with his mother Kavita Seth, and which was nominated for the Global Indian Music Academy Awards in 2015. His musical journey started at the age of 14 when he first learnt sound engineering. With two TEDx talks, several award nominations, an international film and over 100 live concerts, including a performance that received a standing ovation at ‘Jashn-e-Rekhta’, the world’s biggest Urdu festival, Kanishk has composed, produced and sung over 100 songs for different mediums – films, ads, music videos, albums and singles.

Pop artist Subhi will be releasing a new single next year on Valentine’s Day, following which a remix version will be released.
