What's in 'Verity' Teaser?
Released on 27th April, the teaser introduces Dakota Johnson as struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh, who arrives at the secluded Crawford estate after being hired to finish a book series for famous author Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway, following a mysterious accident that leaves Verity incapacitated.

The preview quickly builds tension as Lowen becomes drawn to Verity's husband, Jeremy Crawford, played by Josh Hartnett. A seemingly intimate moment between Lowen and Jeremy takes a disturbing turn when Jeremy suddenly appears as Verity, creating a haunting and unsettling twist. The eerie scene escalates with blood, fear and surreal imagery, setting the tone for the film's dark psychological themes.
As Kylie Minogue's 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' plays in the background, the teaser flashes through scenes of passion, danger and mystery, including glimpses of Verity before and after her accident, secretive behaviour inside the estate, and hints of disturbing family secrets.
Hathaway's Verity delivers ominous warnings throughout the teaser, suggesting Lowen is being pulled deeper into a world filled with darkness and hidden truths. The footage also teases the discovery of a secret manuscript that may reveal shocking details about the Crawford family's past and raises questions over whether Verity's writings are fiction or confession.

Directed by Michael Showalter and written by Nick Antosca, 'Verity' follows Lowen as she grows closer to Jeremy and his young son while trying to uncover what is real inside the Crawford home. As danger builds, she must decide how much truth she can handle—and whether sharing it could destroy everything.
The film has already fueled excitement among fans of Hoover's novel, especially after Hathaway, Hartnett and Johnson were spotted filming intense scenes in New York earlier this year, including sequences involving blood and a car crash seemingly lifted from the book.
With its first teaser leaning heavily into suspense, obsession and psychological terror, 'Verity' looks set to bring Colleen Hoover's dark bestseller to life when it arrives in theatres on 2nd October.
