Tom Hollander, known for his role in 'The White Lotus,' shared a humorous incident during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. He recounted the time when his agency mistakenly sent him the paycheck meant for Tom Holland's role in an 'Avengers' movie.

Looking back on the mix-up, Hollander described it as a terrible moment. After enjoying his friend's performance in a theatre in England, where the friend earned 300 pounds a week for a play by Anton Chekhov, Hollander felt prosperous following a BBC show that paid him around 30 grand. With plans to praise his friend Peter after the play, thinking it was wonderful, little did Hollander know what was about to unfold.

Tom Hollander's confidence took an unexpected hit when he decided to check his email on his phone during the intermission of his friend's play. To his surprise, he discovered an email from the agency, mentioning a "Payment advice slip" for his first box office bonus for 'The Avengers.' Amused, Hollander jokingly said, "I don't think I'm in 'The Avengers.'"

The actor was shocked by the substantial amount of money mentioned in the email. It wasn't Tom Holland's salary but his first box office bonus, and it turned out to be a seven-figure sum. Hollander quickly realized that the smug feeling he had earlier during his friend's play vanished instantly. The unexpected twist left him in disbelief at the extent of the financial mix-up.

The actor made it clear that even though he's never mistaken for Tom Holland, the Spider-Man actor from 'Avengers: Endgame,' confusion often arises due to their similar last names. In situations where visuals aren't involved, like when talking to utility companies, people tend to assume he's Tom Holland.

He shared the awkward experiences of people expecting to see Tom Holland but encountering him instead. Hollander narrated instances where he was introduced to initially excited, then confused, and ultimately disappointed children.

Despite his role as Quentin in season 2 of 'The White Lotus,' he still deals with such mix-ups. Additionally, he mentioned his upcoming role as Truman Capote in 'Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans,' premiering on FX on 31st January.
