Halle Berry looked radiant in Saudi Arabia on the night of 7th December! The 57-year-old ‘X-Men’ actress attended the closing ceremony of the 2023 Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah.
During the red carpet photo session, Berry donned an elegant black silk tulle gown adorned with black and gold brocade embroidery. The exquisite dress hails from the Elie Saab Haute Couture autumn/winter 2023 collection. Accompanying her was her supportive boyfriend, Van Hunt, who also posed for photos with Berry on the red carpet.

The Academy Award winner also shared insights during a masterclass at the event, discussing the launch of her production company, ‘HalleHolly’, in collaboration with her former WME partner, Holly Jeter. While dressed in a gold pantsuit for the occasion, Berry revealed that inspiration struck her during the flight to Jeddah.
"On the plane here, I finally saw a story that resonated with my heart, and I realized what I wanted to convey," she explained. The narrative, she detailed, is fundamentally a love story but incorporates elements of the supernatural, time travel, and the future. Berry expressed that it took her the past few years to fully conceptualize this creative vision.

Halle Berry on Her Directorial Venture
It's worth noting that Berry made her directorial debut with the 2020 Netflix film ‘Bruised,’ where she also starred as a retired MMA fighter making a comeback. Reflecting on her directorial venture, she shared at the film's premiere, "I was advised long ago that if you're going to direct a story and be a filmmaker, especially your first movie, you best make it about something that you love and something you intrinsically understand. And I love the fight game. I understand this world and what it is to be a woman fighting to survive."
Halle Berry is expanding her horizons both as an actress and behind the scenes with her upcoming film, ‘Maude v Maude,’ where she collaborates with Angelina Jolie as a co-star and co-producer for the spy thriller.

In an interview at the Red Sea Film Festival, the ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’ star shared that she and Jolie initially had a challenging start while working on the Warner Bros. project. Berry believes that their initial difficulties will enhance their on-screen chemistry in the film, where they engage in physical and intellectual battles. Fortunately, they were able to overcome their initial challenges.
Reflecting on their collaboration, Berry mentioned, "We’ve been talking a lot about divorces and exes. We bonded, let’s say that."

Berry revealed that Warner Bros. acquired their screenplay, and the film aims to explore uncharted territories on screen. It is reported that part of Berry's visit to Saudi Arabia was to scout locations for shooting ‘Maude v Maude.’ She expressed the intention to travel globally for the film, stating, "We plan on going all around the world."
