Jason Momoa is opening up about the future of the 'Aquaman' franchise and it seems like his time as Arthur Curry might be reaching its conclusion. The 'Aquaman' and the Lost Kingdom' star shared his thoughts on the matter in a recent interview.
While expressing his desire for the 'Aquaman' journey not to end, Momoa acknowledged that it might not entirely be up to him. He revealed, "I don’t necessarily want it to be the end... [but] I don’t think it's really, like, a choice," citing the plans of DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran to embark on a new venture.
The absence of a third 'Aquaman' film in the DCU titles unveiled earlier this year raised questions, but Momoa remains optimistic.

Speaking about the possibility of reprising his role, Momoa said, "The truth of it is, I mean, if the audience loves it, then there's a possibility. But right now, I’m like, 'It's not looking too good.’” The actor, known for his advocacy for ocean conservation, expressed his love for the character and his desire to see Aquaman's journey continue on the big screen.
James Gunn's concept of 'Elseworlds' entries, movies outside the new cohesive vision for the comic book universe, could offer a chance for future 'Aquaman' installments. Momoa is open to this possibility, stating, “If there’s a place in their world for me, I would love to be a part of it. This is my home. Warner and DC is definitely my home. So, that’s all I’ll say.”

Director James Wan, when questioned about a third 'Aquaman' film in September, remained uncertain about the future. He mentioned the extensive time and dedication the film demanded, expressing a desire for a well-deserved break.
Jason Momoa initially made a splash as Arthur Curry in 2017’s Justice League before headlining his standalone superhero film in 2018. As fans eagerly anticipate the sequel, 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,' hitting theatres on 20th Dec.
