Jake Bongiovi, son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, is making his mark in the film industry with a starring role in a new comedy about an ’80s hair metal band. The film, ‘Rockbottom’, is now available for streaming on Prime Video.

‘Rock Bottom’ revolves around CougarSnake, a fictional hair metal band that was big in the ’80s but has since faded into obscurity. The plot takes a turn when the band gains new attention after a shout-out from Bryce Cooper, a Gen Z music star played by Brandon Butler. This unexpected boost in popularity prompts the band to reunite, and the film follows their journey back to the spotlight.

Jon Bon Jovi recently opened up about his struggles with his singing voice. In an interview with The Sunday Times in April, he shared that he might never sing live again if he cannot deliver great performances. “If the singing is not great, if I can’t be the guy I once was… then I’m done,” he said. The ’80s rock icon underwent surgery on his vocal cords in 2022 and has been in vocal therapy since.

Despite these challenges, Bon Jovi remains active in the studio. He mentioned that the band has recorded a new album and emphasized the difference between studio work and live performances. Their upcoming 16th studio album, ‘Forever’, is set to be released on 7th June 2024. The album is described as "a return to joy."
