The Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund has announced a $500,000 annual initiative aimed at supporting cosmetology school scholarships and salon business grants across Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and New Jersey.

In a statement, the fund expressed gratitude for hairstylists, highlighting their role in creating a safe and expressive space for individuals through hair. Each of the five major cities will receive $250,000 to be distributed among cosmetology schools with inclusive curriculums, including Beaver Beauty Academy, Trenz Beauty Academy, Universal College of Beauty, Franklin Institute and Janas Cosmetology Academy.

To qualify for the scholarships, students must demonstrate financial hardship and be enrolled or accepted into one of the selected cosmetology schools. Additionally, the fund will allocate the remaining $250,000 annually to qualifying salon business owners in these cities to support their impactful contributions to the community.

Recognizing the challenges of running a salon business, the grant application process requires applicants to demonstrate financial need, regardless of whether they rent a booth, operate a salon, or work from home. The fund's initiative underscores its commitment to empowering individuals in the cosmetology industry.

Additionally, the line launched the Foundation collection, featuring eight hair care products powered by Bioactive Keratin Ferment, a patent-pending technology derived from wool-derived keratin and honey, aimed at cleansing, conditioning, and strengthening hair.
