The announcement of Ariana Grande's latest romantic involvement became public knowledge only a few days following the official confirmation that she had parted ways with her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez. This revelation emerged as a subsequent chapter in Grande's personal life, marking a significant development shortly after the conclusion of her previous marital relationship.

Unquestionably, there is much about Grande and Slater's personal lives that remain undisclosed, including the private intricacies of their past marriages and the rumoured romantic involvement. A significant portion of the discussion surrounding the newly formed couple revolves around these aspects.

A friend close to Grande and Slater told a magazine that the couple's relationship is "much different than what has been portrayed in public." He also added “People have tried to question the timeline. The truth is, Ariana and Ethan didn’t begin seeing each other until after both parties were separated, respectfully."

There is speculation that some of Ariana's lyrics in 'yes, and?' draw inspiration from her recent relationship with Ethan, as she addresses criticism about her dating life in this relatable new song. The track is part of her upcoming album, rumoured to be titled 'eternal sunshine.'

Slater's role in the 'Wicked' movie was a year after Grande's casting was disclosed. Grande is set to portray Glinda alongside Cynthia Erivo's Elphaba, while Slater will take on the character of Boq. Boq initially harbours a crush on Glinda but later becomes the romantic interest of Elphaba's younger sister, Nessarose.

Similar to Grande, Slater has deep ties to Broadway and a connection with Nickelodeon. He notably originated the role of SpongeBob SquarePants in the 2017 Broadway musical adaptation of the same name, earning a Tony nomination and securing a Drama Desk Award for his outstanding performance.
