Machine Gun Kelly invited a close friend and collaborator, Landon Barker to the stage more than halfway through his sold-out, headlining performance on 28th June at Madison Square Garden.
Just a few hours earlier, TMZ was the first to report that Travis Barker, Landon's father, had been transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for an unspecified medical emergency.
MGK and Landon Barker performed the song ‘Die in California’. The song is from the former's second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, 'Mainstream Sellout', which was released in March. 'Tickets To My Downfall', his album from 2020, was both his first rock album and first No. 1 record. Barker played and produced on both projects .
While neither MGK nor Landon commented on the news, Landon's sister Alabama posted a photo to Instagram with a caption which had a teary eyed emoji and also asked her fans to send in prayers.
Kelly sang ‘God Save Me’ from 'Mainstream Sellout' at the MSG concert as well. Travis Barker had tweeted the song's title earlier in the day, and many news agencies assumed he was alluding to his unspecified health problems.
