Lil Yachty teased an "alternative" album with "psychedelic" elements that will be different from his typical rap music. The rapper made the remarks while shopping for new personalised items at Icebox, an Atlanta-based jewellery company that uploaded a video of his visit.

“My new album is a non-rap album,” he said in footage
captured at the store. Yachty added that it was the first time he’d publicly
addressed the project: “It’s alternative, it’s sick.”

When asked who or what inspired him to go in a
different musical direction, he answered: “I’ve always wanted to [make an
alternative album] but now I’ve met all these amazing musicians and producers”

He continued: “It’s like a psychedelic alternative project. It’s different. It’s all live instrumentation…I’ve changed my dynamic…I’m creating music a whole lot differently.”

Yachty commissioned the jewellers to create his new
Concrete Boys and Working Man pieces, the latter of which is inspired by the
logo of his Concrete Boys brand.

Lil Yachty's most recent album, 'Lil Boat 3,' was released in 2020 and featured guest appearances from Drake, Tyler, the Creator, A$AP Rocky, Future, Young Thug, Tierra Whack, Lil Durk, and others. Last year, he released the mixtape 'Michigan Boy Boat.'

In other recent news, the rapper appears in HBO's upcoming series ‘Chillin Island’ starring Rosala and Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend. The unscripted TV show features a trio of rappers — Alec 'Despot' Reinstein of Definitive Jux, Ashok 'Dap' Kondabolu of erstwhile Das Racist, and Aleksey 'Lakutis' Weintraub.

The show is based on the similarly-named radio show,
which was like "hanging out with rappers and Howard Stern if he was on
K," according to production company Elara Studios. The six-episode series
premiered on HBO Max on December 17, 2021.
