The Weeknd’s Summer Bonus Is Here

3 New Surprise From The Weeknd!

The Weeknd has decided that over-delivering is better done after hours.

Just after he made a splash with his fourth #1 album ‘After Hours’ that the fans were still reeling from, he served us three additional snacks!

He posted a video where we see him in a casino and the backdrop music is something we haven’t heard before. So naturally, speculations started pouring in. And in response, he tweeted, confirming our speculations in three simple phrases:  “Nothing Compares,” “Missed You,” and “Final Lullaby.”

Yup, you guessed it. These are the three additional life rafts the Weeknd is throwing our way in these troubling times. Take a listen, because your old favourites from the ‘After Hours’ album, might have to move aside for one of these babies!

5SOS’s Calm Comes out Amid Pandemic

“C A L M” has dropped over the valley as 5 Seconds Of Summer has released their new album amidst much uproar after they gave us a taste with ‘Teeth’, ‘Easier’, and ‘Old Me’.

And here is some trivia about the album that is going to interest you: “The album title came from the first letters of all of our names,” Luke Hemmings, said of his bandmates Calum, Ashton, and Michael. How clever! “And it’s also a nod to our fans that coined us that name in our early days. They’ve been using that acronym for a long time. It kind of just sums up [that] we’re a little bit older and a little bit wiser .?.?. But it was named before this went down, obviously.”

Even with the plans of ‘CALM’ being released in a completely different manner were shook, it didn’t budge them from releasing it after all. Given how some of the other big stars in the industry shied away from having their work be consumed in the time of this pandemic, it is actually quite brave of the Australian pop-rock band to come out with their work in solidarity for all of us at home here.

The songs on the album are an interesting mix of their original style and lyrics that have matured with time. ‘Wildflower’ came to us with enough hype and it delivered. A high tempo, ode to a lover is a delightful departure from the music of the band where they wish their lover thinks of them when they are ‘High’. ‘Thin White Lies’ is an upbeat song of a down beaten heart, beautifully mastered.

Give the 12-track album a listen and find out which of them will you be finding yourself singing in the shower. This fan speculates that it is going to be ‘Wildflower’!

Dua Lipa Goes Live With Future Nostalgia

Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia” has made its arrival , and we are smitten! This is your self isolation party anthem pack! Earlier this week, she announced that the album release would be earlier than scheduled due to the CoronaVirus crisis. She got emotional on Instagram Live as she told her fans that she didn’t know if this was the right decision or not.

Many artists have postponed their album release due to the crisis but some have insisted on sticking to the original date or even opting for an earlier release. This is due to the sales impact that the economic slowdown will bring, hence opting for an earlier release while the economy is relatively stable seems like the best option.

“Future Nostalgia” is a non-stop party train from its opening track giving major Prince vibes to the chilling White Towns sample of “Your Woman” on “Love Again”. And last night, she dropped the INXS-interpolating “Break My Heart” on us. We felt that one hard, big relate!

Dua smashes patriarchy as she calls out male privilege through the song “Boys will Boys” with a chorus of “Boys will be boys but girls will be women”. Kudos to Dua for this euphoric ballad celebrating the double standard put up for women. Well why should boys have all the fun!? This album is worth your quarantine time because it will make you shake whatcha mama gave you! Don’t need to hit the gym after this.
