Travis Scott Pushes His Astroworld Festival To 2021

Every year witnesses a string of highly-anticipated musical events, from the Grammys and Coachella to the VMAs and the yearly Jingle Ball celebrations. But one event that certainly sits high on this list is Travis Scott’s Astroworld concert. While the festival is currently put on hold for this year, Scott promised it would return in 2021.

Travis took to the Astroworld Fest’s official instagram to leave behind a sweet message for his fans.  “See you next year… at Astrofest can’t wait to turn the f–k up! Stay Safe,” the rapper scrawled beside an image of an astronaut suit, burning up from the inside. Scott simply captioned the post with, “THE PARTY NEVER ENDS.”

Much like other big festivals that are often home to some of the most powerful names in the industry, Astroworld has also witnessed a string of stars in the past. In fact, just last year the show saw Migos, Young Thug, Megan Thee Stallion, Gucci Mane, Pharrell, Marilyn Manson, Rosalia, DaBaby, and a number of other impressive acts.

Despite kicking off just two years ago, the festival has truly gained momentum. A lot of this points to the larger-than-life stages, the spectacular lighting and surreal sets. The initial idea of the Astroworld – Wish You Were Here Tour was to revive the childhood amusement park, Six Flags AstroWorld, so each stage was decorated in a fashion reminiscent of the theme park with features such as a small functioning ferris wheel and roller coaster.

And like a lot of Scott’s work, the festival is not just about the music, it’s an immersive experience that quite literally heightens all senses. So, with all fingers and toes crossed, here’s hoping the show gets back on the roads in 2021.
