The World Pays Tribute To DMX

Earl Simmons, who is popularly known by his stage name, Dark Man X aka DMX passed away on Friday, 9th April 2021. The 50-year-old had been hospitalized for a week following a cardiac arrest triggered by a reported drug overdose before he succumbed to complications.

There was an outpour of emotional tributes from fans and celebrities around the world as they mourned the demise of the artist.

Tashera Simmons, DMX’s ex-wife and Desiree Lindstorm, X’s fiancee console each other outside White Plains Hospital in New York during a prayer vigil for DMX.

‘He was a Warrior’

Following DMX’s demise, his family put out an emotional statement that read-“Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever.” Several celebrities including LeBron James, Swiss Beatz and Alicia Keys took to their social media to share heartfelt messages of condolences with pictures of their moments together with the artist.

His ex-wife Tashera Simmons, who recently turned 50 on the 11th of April, penned a rather heartfelt message for the rap god on her social media handle.

King Of Hearts

The American hip-hop singer has produced several chart-topping works such as Party Up and X Gon’Give It To Ya. He was nominated for a Grammy three times and even though he did not win one, there’s no denying that he won the hearts of millions across the world with his powerful music. He was also the first musician whose first five albums reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart. He also ventured into Hollywood where he was part of films like Belly, Last Hour and The Big Pun.

Belly was quick to become a huge Box Office hit and is considered one of the best Hip-Hop movies ever.

Gone But Not Forgotten

DMX was one of the best rappers are out there. He was smart, authentic, talented and a total badass. He had a certain way with music and words that left an everlasting imprint on our minds. We will always remember him for his energy, his brilliance and his anthem-‘Where the Hood at !?’
