The Weeknd Will No Longer Submit Music To The Grammys

The Weeknd Boycotts Grammys

The Weeknd has decided to call it quits with the Grammys, forever. The ‘Blinding Lights’ singer expressed his frustration towards the Recording Academy in a recent interview and trust us, it’s pretty much on point.

The Weeknd is boycotting the Grammy Awards for not being nominated even in a single category this time. Despite having great hits from his “After Hours” album, he’s been left without a nod.

The singer should have been nominated for at least, Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of The Year. However, this surely wasn’t the case. Though his album continues to have the biggest streaming week for an R&B album ever and also, ‘Blinding Lights’ still is breaking the record on the charts even after a year.

What Is The Weeknd Saying?

When the nominations were announced for the Grammy Awards, The Weeknd took to his Twitter handle to diss the process. His tweet read, “The Grammys remain corrupt.” This was back then, but he’s still not done with his rant!

“Because of the secret committees, I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys,” the three-time Grammy winner, The Weeknd said in a statement ahead of Sunday’s awards show.

Well, we do think The Weeknd is doing and saying the right things. Now, the question is, will the Grammy Awards change their process or at least bring the singer on board?
