Taylor Swift’s “Evermore” Continues To See Major Success

Taylor Swift’s “Evermore” returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for a third non-consecutive week. It moved up from No. 2 a week ago. We’re not really that surprised, this album has definitely been one of the highlights of 2020!

This means the global icon, Taylor Swift has a total of 51 weeks at No. 1 across all eight of her chart-topping albums. She holds a tie with the late superstar Michael Jackson for the fourth-most weeks at No. 1 spot. The two global sensations only trail The Beatles who hold a record of 132 weeks, Elvis Presley, and Garth Brooks with 67 and 52 weeks, respectively.

A Success Spanning 14 Years!

Let us turn back time to almost a decade back. Remember ‘Love Story’? The singer’s success can be traced back to the initial albums that launched Taylor to fame.

Taylor Swift has had seven out of her eight albums at the No. 1 spot for more than a week. They are “Fearless” which spent 11 weeks in 2008, “Speak Now” which spent six weeks in 2010, “Red” which spent seven weeks in 2012, “1989” which spent 11 weeks, in 2014, “Reputation” which spent four weeks in 2017, “Folklore” which spent eight in 2020 and lastly, “Evermore” that stands at three, so far in 2020-21.

Evermore And More…

Here’s a fun fact. Taylor Swift styled herself for the album cover. The cover has neither the album’s nor Taylor Swift’s name, actually, not even her face. All it has is the one poignant braid. This is probably another offering in the form of a new signature hairstyle, destined to be decoded and imitated by fans for years to come.

Taylor Swift had stated that “Evermore” was a gift for her fans, when she released it as a surprise in December 2020. This album features a very “cottagecore” aesthetic, that fans have speculated fashioned according to the pop star’s life in isolation along with the rest of the world.

This album, as it continues to top charts, has definitely warmed our hearts! Kudos, Taylor Swift.
