Shawn Mendes Reveals Upcoming Documentary: “In Wonder”

Well, suffice it to say, the Mendes Army are well fed. After the reveal of an upcoming studio album and the release of a brand new single, ‘Wonder’, Shawn Mendes gave fans another exciting update. Late last night, Mendes shared the news of an upcoming Netflix Original documentary – “In Wonder”. The film is slated for release world over on the 23rd of November. Further, it marks a major pre-release event before the arrival of his third studio album, “Wonder”, on the 4th of December. 

What’s in Store?

Shawn Mendes revealed, “Been working on this documentary for so long & am so excited to finally share it with you all.” Further, an official report from Variety stated that the film is led by music video director – Grant Singer.

Further, the film will feature footage from Mendes’ world tour last year, spanning performances across North and South America, Europe and Asia. In addition, fans can expect an “intimate look at Mendes’ life and journey, filmed over the last few years.” 

“In Wonder” has also been selected as a special event at the Toronto Film Festival. Further, in partnership with the Shawn Mendes Foundation, Mendes recently announced a new annual TIFF award. The award recognises young or emerging filmmakers for “excellence in creating a film that focuses on world issues important to the youth of today.” 

A New Era in Mendes’ Music

Shawn Mendes officially kicked off a brand new era in music on the 2nd of October. A single, titled ‘Wonder’, arrived, showing off a new side of the Canadian singer-songwriter. Further, the track debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. In addition, the 22 year old revealed exciting news last week.

Talking about the upcoming album, Shawn Mendes revealed that an exciting collaboration awaits us. Shawn also revealed that the album was primarily written in quarantine.

“In Wonder” is slated for release on the 23rd of November, on Netflix.
