Shawn Mendes Gets The ‘Wonder Residency’ Tour On The Roads

The buzz around Shawn Mendes just increased tenfold, if that were even possible…And it’s all due to one exciting new endeavour the young star is ready to embark on.

So, here’s what went down, Shawn just kicked off the brand new, “Wonder Residency” tour. But of course, he’s also adopted the new norms set in place by the global coronavirus pandemic. Shawn’s simply called for a few changes to concepts usually associated with the word “tour”. This time around, the star will be performing at different theaters and clubs to help out venues shuttered by the coronavirus.

The artist recently took to social media to break the news, with a quirky little poster. Featuring an odd vintage charm only found in old news papers. The visual sees a silhouette of Shawn, against a white backdrop. The text below hints at the first venue and date for his upcoming tour.

Below the teaser, Shawn’s brief caption read, “I’ll be performing tomorrow on @fallontonight, live from The Palace Theater, 11:35/10:35c for #TheWonderResidency Pt I. The first in a series of performances from different theaters and venues this album,” he continued. “You can buy a limited edition poster, all proceeds benefiting @nivassoc in their efforts to save independent venues impacted by the pandemic.”

A Tour vs The New Era of Benefit Concerts

Much like Shawn, a string of other stars have been conducting livestream events to raise money for those severely impacted by the global pandemic. In fact, Niall Horan also recently announced that he’d be holding a benefit concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall. All proceeds from this show will go to his crew members, that are currently out of work and in desperate need of financial support.

Circling back to Shawn, just last week the artist also treated fans to the first trailer for his upcoming Netflix documentary, “In Wonder”. The project is slated to premiere on November 23rd. But in the meantime it looks like we can get our fill of Mendes content with the sparkling new “Wonder Residency” tour.
