Selena Gomez is Out With Her ‘Past Life’ With Trevor Daniel

Selena Gomez is out with her version of ‘Past Life’ with Trevor Daniel. The pair have joined together on the remix of the track as both seem to connect to the lyrics.

The collaborative track of Trevor Daniel and the ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’ singer was announced on Twitter on June 24, 2020 via Selena Gomez‘s Twitter account.

‘Past Life’ talks about letting go of the person who you were in the past and being protective about your current mental health. Apparently, Selena Gomez also agrees to the fact that one can’t hit the delete button on their journey. The song suggests to be a better person to the one’s we’ve used in our journey and holding on to the promise.

Selena Gomez spoke with Daniel about why the song resonated with her. “When I heard the song the first time, I loved the fact that it was kind of like a story about all the things that we tend to hold onto and the patterns that we have,” she said. “And I’m very, very vocal about my personal experiences making decisions that maybe aren’t necessarily healthy for me.”

This year, Selena blessed us with her ‘Rare’ studio album which turned out to be a massive hit. It released on January 10, 2020 and became her third consecutive No.1 album on the Billboard 200. And now, we get her version of this song and we can’t help but ask for more music from her.

Beyonce Will Receive Humanitarian Award at BET 2020

2020 bet

A big honour is being bestowed upon Beyonce as the list of award recipients was announced by BET. She is set to receive the Humanitarian Award at 2020 BET Awards.

More than a singer-songwriter, Beyonce has been a successful activist and philanthropist ready to mobilize millions for the causes she has stood firmly for. She has been actively rallying for Breonna Taylor just as she did for George Floyd, asking authorities and decision makers to bring justice to these victims of police brutality.

Beyonce is a founder of the #BeyGOOD campaign that is a portfolio of a number of causes that she supports and raises funds for. She has also raised funds for basic health and mental health needs of vulnerable communities who are even more impacted by the pandemic.

The BET Awards ceremony will air on Sunday in the US. Others who are also being felicitated at this ceremony include two other Black personalities who will be honoured posthumously – Kobe Bryant and Little Richard.

At the ceremony, rapper Lil Wayne will be the one standing in and paying tribute to Kobe Bryant. Actor and comedian, Wayne Brady, will be speaking about Little Richard.

The Humanitarian Award which Beyonce is set to receive is a recent tradition dating 2002 and is given to celebrities who have devoted their time and money to philanthropic, socially impactful work.

A quick list of the recipients in the past include: Muhammad Ali, Denzel Washington, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Jesse Williams, Chance the Rapper, Shaun King, and more.
