Sean Paul and Tove Lo Are Calling out to party

We always love a great collab and Sean Paul and Tove Lo have gifted us with just that! The duo just dropped a simmering pop track titled, ‘Calling On Me’ along with its accompanying music video!

The video features the pair standing against a constantly changing backdrop. From colliding galaxies, to the icy Arctic to a lush green tropical forest, with every new verse the display changes. Combine Tove Lo’s distinctive husky vocals, the soft background beat and of course, Sean Paul’s summery energy and you get quite a catchy number.

While the songwriting doesn’t stand out much, the message is still charming yet simple;

Real love conquers all (yeah, ooh yeah)

I want to be easing your pain and all

Your frustration to be gone (yeah)

Same family from beginning to the end (oh, yeah, yeah)

Same strategy, each one teach one again

Same energy, love don’t pretend

I hear you

Calling, calling, calling, calling on me

I’ll be there for you

I’ll be, I’ll be, I’ll be, I’ll be on time

Like you expect me to

So, as the lyrics read, love is always a two-way street. It’s a promise of security, comfort and trust because ultimately, no matter what corner of the world you’re in, those who love you will always pick up when you call.

Speaking about his experience working with Tove Lo, Sean Paul admitted that having her on board was a real treat. “This one’s a dope song reflecting the real side of love. If you love someone, the energy doesn’t ever change. They are able to call on you at all times. I’m proud to have such an amazing vocalist like Tove Lo be on the track with me,” he confessed. This track marks Paul’s first single of 2020.

Tove Lo on the other hand started the new year with a bang. In early January, she put out two contrasting tracks, “Passion And Pain Taste The Same When I’m Weak” and “Bikini Porn”. From a light, funky tune to something a little more somber, these tracks proved that the singer was ready to experiment with both, her sound and style.

‘Calling On Me’ is definitely a recipe for the charts and boy, we can’t wait to see how this one soars!
