Rapper Baby Blue Arrested On Federal Charges

On October 6, 2020, news broke that rapper Baby Blue, who is a member of Pretty Ricky has been arrested. The star was acquitted along with a man from Pennsylvania under federal charges. The pair have been charged for alleged involvement in a coronavirus relief fraud scheme

Baby Blue has come under the scanner for the $24 million scheme. He and his associate have been accused of wire fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud.

The rapper Baby Blue has been a part of the American R&B/Hip-Hop group ever since 1997. The Floridian native, whose real name Diamond Smith, has used part of the money from the scheme to purchase a range of luxury items including a Ferrari. According to the report, he also “made other luxury purchases using PPP loan proceeds.”

Following his arrest, the authorities seized the luxury car that belonged to Baby Blue.  Under false documentation, he also took a $426,717 loan under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) for his company Throwbackjersey.com. Following this, he went on to draw another $708,065 PPP loan for his other company, Blue Star Records LLC. All of it took place illegally, damn.

Well, time will only tell if the charges drop or what occurs further in the investigation. We will have to wait and watch, however, we shall keep you updated. Though, think for yourselves, is he innocent?
