Now You Get to Vote & Video Chat with Camila Cabello

In light of the ongoing #BlackLivesMatter Movement, a number of musicians have come together to urge people to vote. From Taylor Swift, who put out a bold, scathing tweet to President Donald Trump, promising that he will be voted out, to Snoop Dogg, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and a ton of other stars, they’ve all been pushing for swift voter action. And standing among them is none other than Camila Cabello.

With the presidential election coming up in November, the star teamed up with the non-profit organization, Headcount, to help her fans register to vote. Oh but she might’ve also added one extra bonus, or shall we call it, an incentive? Camila Cabello is also video-chatting with fans at random who check their voter registration status at Headcount’s official website.

Cabello also took to Twitter to emphasize that she’s been using her platform for good. She also broke down the voting process to make it simpler for her fans to follow-

The platform, called Vote Ready, was created by Headcount in ties with technology firm, Phone2Action. The organization’s ultimate goal is to register at least 200,000 voters for the 2020 election. And to contact over one million Americans in a massive get-out-the-vote effort.

Camila Cabello Continues to Fight for Justice

Since George Floyd’s passing, Camila Cabello has been extremely proactive, in this fight for justice. Not only was she spotted with Shawn Mendes at a protest in Miami. But she also implored her fans to sign a petition demanding justice. Her message read,

“I’ve been trying to find the right words to say after I saw the video where George Floyd’s life is being taken from him with impunity… I am so sorry to George Floyd’s family and Ahmaud Arbery’s family, And Breonna Taylor’s family and to the countless other black families that have their children and parents being taken away from them. I stand with you in outrage and I have called Minnesota Governor Walz, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison , and Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, their numbers and what to say is on the ACLU website, and I urge you to please call, please sign the petitions, and let’s stand together for justice. We need a change, we can’t afford to be silent, and we can’t afford a society that’s indifferent to others pain.”

As the fight for racial justice continues, artists are doing their bit. Be it through music, by encouraging voter action, through donations or even protests on ground. And from the looks of it, no one is showing any signs of slowing down.
