Miley Cyrus Grants Wishes; Drops ‘Heart of Glass’ Cover

It looks like Miley Cyrus has finally heard our prayers. The young star just put out her official cover for Blondie’s No. 1 hit, ‘Heart of Glass‘. Earlier in the week, Miley took to Twitter to ask fans whether they’d like her to officially drop the full cover. It didn’t take long for the Twittersphere to blow up after this.

Miley first covered the hit during this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival and since then, fans have been yearning for a taste of the full track, served up with Miley’s distinctive tone.

Her rendition of ‘Heart of Glass’ is tinged with a few rock elements, fueled by her characteristic, husky vocals. Miley’s rough melodic runs sit wonderfully beside the cocktail of strong drum beats and scorching electronic riff.

The Buzz Around ‘Heart of Glass’

Now, just for some context, this song was crafted by the American new wave band Blondie, written by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. It was featured on the band’s third studio album, “Parallel Lines”  in 1978, and dominated the charts in several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

In fact, in December 2004, Rolling Stone created a record for the song on its list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. Now, more than forty years later, Miley has breathed life into this track once more. And boy, did she do it complete justice.

Further, number of celebrities also begged Miley earlier this week, to drop the track. This included Adam Lambert, Paris Hilton and even the UFC fighter, Julian Marquez.

Since Miley’s return to the music scene with ‘Midnight Sky’, the star has been the talk of the town. And something tells us that this is just the beginning.
