Miley Cyrus Announces New Album: “Plastic Hearts”

Miley Cyrus announces new album

Miley Cyrus just announced the release of her seventh studio album: “Plastic Hearts”. The full length project will be released on the 27th of November, 2020. The ‘Wrecking Ball’ hitmaker took to social media to share the news. And, giving fans a taste of the vulnerability this album will serve up, the singer-songwriter shared some heart felt insights about the project and its inception.

Miley Cyrus Rises from the Ashes

Speaking of “Plastic Hearts”, Cyrus wrote: “I began this album over 2 years ago. I thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record – its songs/ sounds, but my whole f**king life”. Further, she revealed, “No one checks an ego like life itself”. And, then she went on to talk about the tragic incident of her house burning down and how that erased all her work, quite literally.

Miley revealed that the finished masters, her journals of writing and CDs with recordings and other systems were all damaged. And, so, much of the recorded music and source material was lost. But, lucky for her many of her collaborators still had rough demos and other material to work with. So, she began again.

Of the incident itself, Miley wrote, “I lost my house in a fir but found myself in its ashes.” Finally, she concluded, “In triumph and gratitude, I present to you my 7th studio record, “Plastic Hearts”, to be released on 11/27/20″.

Cyrus is A Rock Star

The album cover accompanied the note. Photographed by art photographer Mick Rock, who in the past has worked with Debbie Harry, David Bowie and more, it shows off Miley in her element. Further, sound-wise, fans speculate that the record will follow in the footsteps of her 2019 release, ‘Mother’s Daughter’ – an edgier, eclectic pop-rock round. In addition, the singer’s latest single, ‘Midnight Sky’ will feature on the album, too.

In the run up to the album release, Miley Cyrus has featured on various live stages. Her most recent gig – an MTV Unplugged ‘Backyard Sessions’ blew fans away. Further, she lent her voice to various fundraiser performances in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Plastic Hearts” is slated for release on the 27th of November, 2020.
