Mariah Carey's all set to debut a new seasonal special

Singer-songwriter Mariah Carey has announced a Christmas Special, slated for release this holiday season. The announcement arrived yesterday, leaving fans excited. Carey, the Queen of the Holidays, is also named as the executive producer on the project. She will be working with Ian Stewart, Raj Kapoor, and Ashley Edens. Further, Hamish Hamilton and Roman Coppola will direct the programme.

‘Mariah’s Magical Christmas Special’ will premiere on Apple TV Plus on the 4th of December. In addition, the festivities will be in full swing as the special’s arrival marks a milestone in the singer’s career. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Mariah’s evergreen Christmas track, ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’. The beloved holiday single was released back in 1994, and, is now a symbol synonymous with the holiday season.

Carey further revealed a star-studded line up joining her on the special. Guests will include Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland and Mykal-Michelle Harris. Further, musical guests include Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, fans were informed: “[the special] will combine music, dancing, and animation driven by a universally heartwarming story that brings the world together”.

In other news, Carey just scored a massive record with her new book, “The Meaning of Mariah”. The autobiography landed a place as nominee amongst the Goodreads Choice Awards in the Best Memoir category. The book details her life, from childhood to superstardom and the journey in between. Touching upon issues of womanhood, race and more, the memoir was a treat for fans.
