Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande Are Prepping For their Collab

Lady Gaga has kept her Little Monsters on their toes, since the announcement of her upcoming album, ‘Chromatica’. Just a few weeks back, she revealed her star-studded tracklist. She’s got a collaboration down with Elton John, the Kpop supergroup BLACKPINK and pop princess, Ariana Grande.

Ariana Grande & Lady Gaga's Single “Rain On Me”- Here's What We ...

Ariana and Gaga have worked on a track called, ‘Rain on Me’ and thankfully, fans don’t have to wait till the entire album drops to hear it. Both singers took to social media to announce the release date for this track, which happens to be May 22nd.

The cover art shows us Lady Gaga in pink and black, settled inside a cave while Ariana waits at the entrance. Gaga here is clearly some sort of extraterrestrial creature, considering that the cave looks rather…unsettling. Think Aliens, the 1986 cult classic, but a little more colourful. Oh and this time, Gaga is the monster. Well, fans do call her, Mother Monster, so it’s all quite fitting.

Ariana Has Another Collab in the Works

Ariana Grande is no stranger to top notch collabs. She just put out a tune with Justin Bieber titled, ‘Stuck With U’ and this one’s already racing through the charts. And just recently, in a conversation with Zane Lowe, she revealed that she had teamed up with Doja Cat for a brand new song.

“I’m obsessed with her. I love her. I was able to work with her earlier this year on this song that I want to save for whenever it’s time again, to drop,” Grande gushed.

“I love her personality. I love what she brings to the table musically. She’s just such a breath of fresh air. I think she’s brilliant and so talented. … We did this song together towards the end of last year and I love it so much. I remember when I first wrote it and sent it to her, she was in the shower and she was like, ‘B—h, I love this. I’m in the shower.’ And I was like, ‘Shower. You can call me back.'” Attention! We’ve got a hardcore fangirl on the block.

There’s been no further news on that collab, but right now, let’s just look forward to the coming few weeks. Once ‘Rain on Me’ is out, we’ll barely have a minute to breathe because Chromatica is going to drop just a couple days later, on May 29th.

Pearl Jam and Greta Thunberg Force Us To Face Reality

Pearl Jam and Greta Thunberg

American rock band, Pearl Jam, have roped in Swedish activist, Greta Thunberg, for the official music video for their track “Retrograde“.

In a swerve away from the common theme of songs of hope and optimism, Pearl Jam paint a bleak picture of the world’s possible future in their new animated, stop motion music video for their latest release “Retrograde”. The song explores the trials we all face today, the consequences of our choices and the current state of affairs we all lament. The band sings: “Stars align/ they say when things are better than right now// Feel the retrograde spin us /round, round.”

The video proposes the idea of what the world will look like, lest we change our ways. Greta Thunberg, the world-famous 17-year old environmentalist, unironically plays the fortune teller revealing these images of dystopia to the audience in the Pearl Jam video.

While Pearl Jam has prophetically laid out the dangerous possibility of our near future, we’re not entirely sure it’s what the world needed at this point in time. We are in the thick of a global pandemic, so a little hope would do everyone good.

Meanwhile, Greta Thunberg has spent the better half of her day dealing with the wrath of the Twittersphere. In light of her appearance on a COVID-19 panel discussion on broadcasting channel CNN, the 17 year old has been dragged to internet-troll hell and back for even being considered a valuable member of a panel regarding health issues.

But, for anyone who thought they’d shown Thunberg the door, self-reflection is due. The Swedish native took to Twitter to express her view on the matter, shutting down any criticism with pure fact.

And while Great Thunberg continues to be dragged by people all over the world, there are those validating her legitimacy on the panel, too.

Cardi B Receives Her Grammy 2 Years Late

cardi B

American rapper and part-time Instagram influencer (that’s an undeniable fact, by now), Cardi B, has finally received her physical Grammy Award for Best Rap Album 2 years after being announced the winner of the prestigious award.

Cardi B won the golden trophy from the Recording Academy back in 2018. Her win for Best Rap Album marked a historic moment for female rappers at the time, as Cardi became the first solo female rapper to win a Grammy in that category. Her debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy‘ further went on to break the record for the longest charting rap album by a female rapper, charting for a total of 92 weeks.

Cardi B took to her Instagram, sharing a story of the Grammy in her hands, explaining that the golden trophy had finally been delivered to the right address. The rapper can be seen unwrapping the package, finally revealing the golden gramophone, with an engraved plaque displaying her name and the category she won for.

The award comes at a perfect time for Cardi B, almost as a recognition for all her campaigning around safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic. She’s been one of the most vocal celebrities in these trying times of the global pandemic. Her rant about the dangers of the Coronavirus in the early days, even went on to get remixed into a Billboard charting track.
