Kanye West, Billie Eilish and Harry Styles to lead Coachella 2022

Harry Styles, Billie Eilish and Kanye West are all set to headline this year’s Coachella festival as announced by the organizers. The event is going to take place at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California on the weekends of April 15- 17 and April 22- 24.

Coachella had already been cancelled twice due to the pandemic. In 2020, before its cancellation due to COVID- 19, the festival was going to feature Frank Ocean, Travis Scott and Rage Against the Machine. This is the first time Coachella was postponed in 20 years. It was rescheduled to April 2021 and again got cancelled due to a coronavirus outbreak.

Scott was removed as the headliner months after the Astroworld 2021 tragedy, which resulted in the deaths of 10 people. Coachella 2019 was headlined by Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala. Other artists billed high for this year’s event are Flume, Megan Thee Stallion, Disclosure, 21 Savage, Phoebe Bridgers, Doja Cat, Joji, Jamie xx and Run the Jewels.

The headline set will mark Styles’ debut Coachella performance. Eilish will be the youngest-ever headliner at Coachella, following a huge breakout performance at the festival back in 2019. The organization took Twitter to announce the presale and registration.

The headline set will mark Styles’ first performance at Coachella. It will come after he recently wrapped up a North American arena tour and amid rumors that he is set to release his third album sometime in 2022.

Meanwhile, Styles entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe last year, making a brief cameo in the post-credits scene of Chloé Zhao’s Eternals. “I’m only in right at the very end. But who didn’t grow up wanting to be a superhero, you know? It was a great experience and I’m so grateful to have gotten to work with Chloé.” he said of the small part of Eros.
