Kanye Drops a New Music Video ‘Heaven and Hell’

The 44-year-old rap icon Ye, formerly known as Kanye West dropped a short film to accompany his song ‘Heaven and Hell’ during College Football Playoff National Championship game. The music will appear on Kanye’s Donda.

The online video serves double- responsibility as a Yeezy Gap advert that also showcases the brand’s new hoodies, which most of the characters in the video appeared to be wearing. While Kanye West has legally changed his name to Ye raps in rhythmic bursts, the video continues with a montage of various city scenes. The video is established at night as the characters roam around town, sporting dark hoodies. The three-minute clip opens with several people in black hoodies and pants with faces hidden.

In the second half of the video, Ye appears dressed in black, including a leather head mask with slits for eye holes. The scene establishes a scene where bodies are floating into the sky around him as part of what seems to be a rapture. 

The Heaven and Hell video playing was released just days after the rapper announced a new collaboration with Gap and Balenciaga. The collaboration, titled ‘Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga’, is expected to drop soon. This is the second set of releases coming later in 2022.  

The music video comes off the heels of an OTT platform pulling the curtain back on its own project with Ye. The streamer released the first trailer for “Jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy,” its upcoming three-part documentary, 21 years in the making that will celebrate its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later this month. The production would witness his origins. 

Its official teaser trailer, which also dropped Monday, gives fans an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the rapper’s early days in the industry.
