Vocalist Jungkook, who is also the youngest member of South korean heavyweight boy group BTS, surprised fans with the release of a self-produced solo track titled “Still With You”.

The 23-year old released the track late last night, meeting fan expectations. ARMY have been theorising the release of various content a run up to the annual BTS FESTA – their yearly anniversary celebration. Fans predicted the release of a track, but were surprised with a solo song by Jungkook.

This isn’t the first time Jungkook takes a spin of the solo circuit. He has previously released multiple covers, a solo track called “Decalcomania“, and solo tracks as part of BTS projects as well, with tracks like “Euphoria” and “Begin”. He is often held as the gold standard in vocals by the industry, showcasing technical ability and consistency that is considered rare.

Turning away from the EDM and techno sound found in his previous solo endeavours, Jungkook dives straight into an R&B, jazz groove on this project. Experimenting with softer sounds, PDogg (longtime producer for BTS) and JK create a moody landscape on the 4 minute track.

“Still With You” explores separation and longing in a new light. Jungkook sings: “Though I’m at a standstill/ Underneath a frozen sunset// I want to walk towards you, one step at a time/ Still with you//.” His melancholic vocals wrap around lamentations, pulling at heartstrings of fans world over.

“Still With You” is now available on SoundCloud as a free track. BTS FESTA 2020 will take place on 13th June, 2020, commemorating the group’s 7 year anniversary.
