Iann Dior’s New Track ‘Thought it Was’ Features Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker

Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker are both featured on a new single by Iann Dior called ‘Thought it Was’. The song is the latest from Dior’s forthcoming third studio album, ‘On to Better Things,’ which will be released on January 21 via 10K Projects.

‘Thought it Was’ premiered on BBC Radio 1 and follows the success of last year’s tracks ‘V12,’ which featured Lil Uzi Vert, and ‘let you,’ which was released shortly before Christmas.

The new song is about being surrounded by people, fame, and prosperity yet also feeling more alone and uneasy than ever before, sampling Semisonic’s 1998 single ‘Closing Time’ in the process.

Dior’s last collaboration with Kelly and Barker was for the 2020 single ‘Sick and Tired’, but he has also appeared on Kelly’s Travis Barker-produced album ‘Tickets To My Downfall’.

Speaking to NME in 2020, Dior said: “I want to become the Number One artist in the world, and I’m fully determined and obsessed with being the greatest. So I’m pretty sure next time we have a conversation, we’ll be talking about how I’m the number one artist in the world.”

Last year in February, Dior was featured on Mike Shinoda’s new single ‘Happy Endings,’ which also included UPSAHL, and on a brand-new version of Glass Animals’ 2020 track ‘Heat Waves.’

In the Radio 1 Live Lounge in September, Bring Me The Horizon covered 24kGoldn and Iann Dior’s smash TikTok hit ‘Mood’. Frontman Oli Sykes explained why he chose to cover ‘Mood’: “I was quite familiar with it: I really love the track, and it’s so catchy as well. And it felt like we could do something a little bit more in our world with it.”
