The 56th Academy of Country Music kicked off on 18th April 2021 in Nashville. The show was broadcasted from three country music venues: the Grand Ole Opry House, Ryman Auditorium, and the Bluebird Café. We bring to you some of the key moments from the event in case you missed it!

Guyton-Urban Pair Up To Be Hosts

The event was hosted by  Mickey Guyton and Keith Urban. Mickey made history that night as she was the first Black woman to ever host the show! The duo not only played hosts but also delivered stunning individual performances that night with their amazing voices. Guyton performed  “Hold On” from 2017’s faith-based film, The Shack while Urban opted for a rock number with “Tumbleweed.

A Night Of Collaborations

The ACM Awards 2021 saw several collaborations that night: starting from Gospel Legend CeCe Winans and country star Carrie Underwood who gave everyone complete Sunday Church Morning vibes with their powerful performance to Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton who made everyone emotional with ‘Maggie’s Song’ which was a tribute to our furry friends.

Awards And Nominations

31-year-old American Singer Maren Morris lead the night with the most number of nominations with five of them under her belt! She took home the award for Female Artist Of The Year. The Male Artist Of The Year went to Thomas Rhett. The Entertainer Of The Year went to Luke Bryan who however could not attend the event as he had tested positive for COVID. What a bummer!
