GOT7 Trends Worldwide, Fans Express Support

In recent news, GOT7, one of the most popular Kpop boy groups in the country announced they will not be renewing their contract with JYP Entertainment, their agency of 7 years. The group consisting of Park Jinyoung, Choi Youngjae, Lim Jaebum, Yugyeom, Mark Tuan, Jackson Wang and Bambam have decided not to renew their 7-year contract with their agency. 

Fans all over the world have come together to show their support for the band with hashtags – #GOT7FOREVER and #AHGASESFOREVER – the fan base title. 

A Long Time Coming? 

Rumours about GOT7 disbanding have been circulating for some time now. Many previously signed artists of the management company, fans, and the members of the group themselves have spoken up about how they have faced issues with the company and the CEO, JY Park. 

The band members to have posted on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #GOT7FOREVER. Several fans have speculated that GOT7 has decided to leave together because of constant mistreatment from the agency, with lack of promotions, restrictions on solo activities and rejecting songs.

In 2020, GOT7 released their 11th EP “DYE”, and their fourth studio album “Breath of Love: Last Piece”. The albums came out in April and November last year, respectively. 

One For Old Times’ Sake

GOT7 had their last performance under the JYP banner at the Golden Disc Awards ceremony yesterday. While their fans mourned the band separating, the artists themselves seemed to be in high spirits. They have been stating that they will be back with a new album, and asking aghases to keep supporting them.

It is reported that Jinyoung will be signing with BH entertainment‘s acting agency, Yugyeom will be joining Jay Park‘s agency, and Jackson Wang will be continuing with his home label ‘Team Wang’. The other members of GOT7 are yet to confirm their future plans officially, but they are all in talks with agencies and plan to do solo activities until the much-awaited reunion. 

Until then, their fans can only wait and support their solo endeavours while cry-watching their music videos. Their last album was aptly named ‘Last Piece’ and has crossed over 30 million views on Youtube. Breaking our hearts, GOT7.

Bittersweet though it may be, we stan a group that always decides to move forward and act in the best interests of their growth. We cannot wait to see what follows by GOT7!
