Ex Red Hot Chilli Peppers Guitarist, Jack Sherman, Dies at 64

In unfortunate news reaching the entertainment world, it has been revealed that ex-Red Hot Chilli Peppers guitarist Jack Sherman has passed away. The musician was 64 years old. And, while the news reaches us, there has been no statement with regards to the cause of death yet. 

Sherman’s former group, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, took to social media to offer their condolences. The caption read: “We of the RHCP family would like to wish Jack Sherman smooth sailing into the worlds beyond, for he has passed.”

Further, they wrote, “Jack played on our debut album as well as our first tour of the USA. He was a unique dude and we thank him for all the times good, bad and in between.” The post conclude with the words, “Peace on the boogie platform”. 

Guitarist and musician, Jack Sherman, joined RHCP after their founding guitarist,  Hillel Slovak left the group. Jack went on to co-write on the band’s debut album. In addition, he lent his work to the band’s follow up, “Freaky Stealy”. However, Slovak returned to the group shortly before recording began. And, Jack was fired as a result. 

Jack Sherman went on to perform and work with a plethora of musicians: Bob Dylan, George Clinton and Peter Case.
