Elton John in Tears Because Of A Wrongly Accused Convict

While watching a performance on America’s Got Talent, Elton John tears up like the rest of us. The wrongly accused convict, Archie William, sang “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” after talking about how he spent 37 years behind the bars for something he did not do.

During the summer auditions for the 15th season of the show, the Louisiana native takes the stage to deliver the most moving speech and performance. Archie explains, “I knew I was innocent. I didn’t commit a crime, but being a poor black kid I didn’t have the economic ability to fight the state of Louisiana at the trial.” This sentence is enough to make anyone cry, let alone Elton John.

Elton John takes to twitter to compare Archie with Nelson Mandela.

Elton John is probably saying this as Archie Williams who did not rape and stab a white woman in 1982 but still was sentenced to life without parole is just a terrible news. “I went to prison but I did not let my mind go to prison.” says Williams.

Archie says singing and praying kept him going during the toughest times and now, we know why he sang so beautifully. Elton John wasn’t the only one appreciating the performer. Simon Cowell, judge on the show, claimed he can never hear the song in the same way.
