Drake Becomes The Only Artist to Bag 21 No.1s

On November 2, 2020, Drake became the first artist to bag the No.1 spot on Billboard‘s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for the twenty-first time. His track ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’ ascended to the top spot after spending weeks at the second spot.

Last week, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘WAP’ held the top position. However, after this week’s rankings, the number moved down to the No.3 spot on the chart. Furthermore, this Drake single featuring Lil Durk has been hanging around the top spots for a couple of months now.

 The Drake track debuted on the chart at the No. 2 spot on Aug. 29. It went on to spend nine of its first ten weeks on the chart in the second slot. In the week that it was not at the throne it moved to the third spot. This was due to the debut of Travis Scott’s “Franchise,” featuring Young Thug and M.I.A that debuted at the top spot.

This new No.1, ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’, featuring Lil Durk is expected to be the lead single from the Canadian’s upcoming album. Drake’s new album titled ‘Certified Lover Boy‘ is set to release in January 2021 and fans can’t wait for the release.

Drake has broken the record of most No.1 hits on the Billboard‘s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. He was previously tied for the record with the legendary Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.

Out of Drake’s 21 No. 1 tracks, he’s had a majority of them with him in a lead role. These visits 12 visits have come in the form of solo tracks as well as numbers in which he takes charge.
