Dave Grohl Still Dreams Of Playing With Nirvana

Former drummer in Nirvana and current Foo Fighter’s frontman, Dave Grohl shared how he still dreams of being back in Nirvana.

Grohl Dave was part of Nirvana until the tragic death of Kurt Cobain in 1994, the band’s frontman. He has revealed that he only plays the group’s tracks only with former bandmates, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear.

Why Dave Will Never Play Nirvana’s Tracks Alone

Grohl in an interview with a source talked about how he still gets dreams about being in the band. He explained why he would never perform the tracks on his own. “I wouldn’t feel comfortable singing a song that Kurt sang, I feel perfectly at home playing those songs on the drums. And I love playing them with Krist and Pat and another vocalist.”, the musician said.

“I still have dreams that we’re in Nirvana, that we’re still a band, I still dream there’s an empty arena waiting for us to play. But I don’t sit down at home and run through ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ by myself. It’s just a reminder that the person who is responsible for those beautiful songs is no longer with us. It’s bittersweet.” Grohl added.

Foo Fighters’ Upcoming Album

Only last month, Grohl Dave talked about how the Foo Fighters finally chose to release their new album, “Medicine At Midnight”. The release was delayed due to the pandemic.

The band’s 10th studio album slated to release on February 5th this year was originally intended for release celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2020. Grohl revealed how they made the decision.

“So, six or seven months went by, and I’m, like: ‘We make this music for people to hear. We don’t just make it so that we can go hit the road. We write these songs so people can enjoy them and sing along, whether it’s in their kitchen by themselves with a bottle of Crown Royal or in a stadium bouncing around, singing the choruses’.” Grohl said.

“So, I was, like, right now, more than ever, people need something to lift their spirits, something to give them some feeling of relief or escape. I was, like: ‘We’ve gotta put it out. Let’s put it out right now.’, Grohl Dave continued. “I don’t know when we’re gonna hit the road, but we need to give the music to the people, ’cause that’s why we make it.”
