BTS Throw A Wild Party in ‘Stay Gold’

Alright, it’s a real battle out here. This Friday, artists have been fighting to steal the spotlight. From Megan Thee Stallion’s new number to BLACKPINK’s fiery tune, ‘How You Like That’, to the remix of Trevor Daniel’s track, ‘Past Life’ featuring Selena Gomez – hoo, give us a minute to catch our breath. The day’s been buzzing with these new releases, but now, make way for the charming boys of BTS, because they’re in with the music video for their latest single, ‘Stay Gold’.

Sprinkled between their summery, uplifting chorus, ‘Stay Gold’ also sees a bout of impressive rap verses which ultimately makes the tune well-balanced and rather wholesome. The lyrics to this tune are familiar and warm. Lyrically, BTS isn’t exactly bringing anything new to the table, but their gentle melodies definitely make up for it.

Take a look at one of their syrupy-sweet verses:

Charming moonlight
Another sleepless night
Playing hide and seek under the moonlight
Dive into your heart, getting closer

Now, coming to the music video, it goes without saying that the sets are impeccable – just like every other BTS music video. We see chipped wallpapers and plants creeping in through windows. We see mattresses floating in water and a room stocked up with towers of books. As expected, the cinematography is stunning. Alright, we’ll stop there, because we’ve already given too much away.

‘Stay Gold’ finds its place on the band’s upcoming Japanese album, ‘Map of the Soul: The Journey’. This one’s set to drop on July 15th, so keep an eye out. But for now, just bask in the glory of their gorgeous music video.

Selena Gomez is Out With Her ‘Past Life’ With Trevor Daniel

Selena Gomez is out with her version of ‘Past Life’ with Trevor Daniel. The pair have joined together on the remix of the track as both seem to connect to the lyrics.

The collaborative track of Trevor Daniel and the ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’ singer was announced on Twitter on June 24, 2020 via Selena Gomez‘s Twitter account.

‘Past Life’ talks about letting go of the person who you were in the past and being protective about your current mental health. Apparently, Selena Gomez also agrees to the fact that one can’t hit the delete button on their journey. The song suggests to be a better person to the one’s we’ve used in our journey and holding on to the promise.

Selena Gomez spoke with Daniel about why the song resonated with her. “When I heard the song the first time, I loved the fact that it was kind of like a story about all the things that we tend to hold onto and the patterns that we have,” she said. “And I’m very, very vocal about my personal experiences making decisions that maybe aren’t necessarily healthy for me.”

This year, Selena blessed us with her ‘Rare’ studio album which turned out to be a massive hit. It released on January 10, 2020 and became her third consecutive No.1 album on the Billboard 200. And now, we get her version of this song and we can’t help but ask for more music from her.
