BTS Serves First-Ever Live Band Version of ‘Dynamite’

BTS on their NPR Tiny Desk concert

Adding to their packed schedules, BTS were recently announced as the latest addition to NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ (home series) roster. The series boasts of intimate performances by both indie and commercial artists. And, it always offers a fresh perspective to the artists’ work, giving viewers the chance to reacquaint themselves with the stars. And, this time, the South Korean heavyweights took center stage.

BTS were part of NPR’s home series – an adjustment to the usual format in light of the current pandemic. With a pre-recorded set and a live band supporting them, the boys got their groove on, decked out in Gucci, looking stylish as ever. Their three-song set featured old songs and new ones.

Kicking things off was a first-ever live band performance of their latest hit single, ‘Dynamite’. And, then, they moved on to an old classic and fan favourite – ‘Save Me’, complete with the electronic synth lines from the original track. Finally, the group ended things on a high note with the ever-loved and poetic, ‘Spring Day’.

Their set premiered on NPR’s channel with a live audience of 450k-600k and currently stands at 5.5 million views. And, as far as successes go, this is just one in a long list of many.

The group also continues to rank steadily on the Billboard Hot 100, bagging the No. 2 spot this week as well. This marks their 4-week stint on the chart, the first two being spent at No. 1 – a first for any Korean act on the chart. Further, they come second to the mammoth rap track, ‘WAP’ by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
