BTS Lend Their Voice to Japanese Film with’Your Eyes Tell’

BTS lend their voice to Japanese film

BTS are all set to lend their music to the Japanese film scene. According to reports that broke earlier today, the group’s upcoming release, a track called ‘Your Eyes Tell’, will serve as the OST for an upcoming Japanese romance film.

‘Your Eyes Tell’ which will feature on BTS’ upcoming Japanese album, “Map of the Soul: The Journey”, has been composed by Jungkook. The track will premiere on a Japanese TV program on the 13th of July, two days ahead of the album’s release on the 15th of July.

‘Your Eyes Tell’ will serve as the OST for an upcoming Japanese romance film – a remake of the Korean hit, ‘Always’. The original film stars famous Korean actors, Han Hyo Joo and So Ji Sub. It details the love story between a traumatised boxer and a telemarketer who develops blindness. The film was a box office hit and remains one of South Korea’s most loved romance films.

In a recent interview, BTS said of the song: “[Your Eyes Tell] conveys the movie’s beautiful and deep worldview of love. The lyrics have the message of “even in the midst of difficulties, we believe that the future that your eyes see is bright”.”

Interestingly, Han Hyo Joo also stars in Love 911. The romantic comedy features your typical “lovers running towards each other” climax – one that Jungkook has talked about hopefully recreating with his other half someday.

Map of the Soul: The Journey

“Map of the Soul: The Journey” is BTS’ full-length Japanese studio album. It will feature Japanese versions of tracks from their Korean album “Map of the Soul: 7”. In addition to this, fresh releases such as ‘Stay Gold’ and ‘Your Eyes Tell’ will also make an appearance.

‘Stay Gold’ recently brought glory to BTS when it scored #1 on the Billboard World Digital Songs Sales chart, marking BTS’ 20th #1 on the chart. The group also recently made history on Japan’s Oricon music chart.

Breaking the 36 year old record held by pop heavyweight, Michael Jackson, BTS’ “Map of the Soul: 7” ranked #1 on the charts half-year album rankings. This makes them the first international artist to do so in 36 years, since Michael Jackson set the record with his iconic album “Thriller”.

“Map of the Soul: The Journey” is slated for release on the 15th of July.
